Hi there Aquarius rising tribe! A Scorpio sun/Aqu rising here. What a combo!

Glad to find this place. I'm a Scorpio and my Aquarius rising has always fascinated me and puzzled me.

This concoction of Scorpio and Aquarius energy gives me flare & style, but it gets me in trouble all the time.

This is how I think the Aquarian influence manifests in my behavior:

-I've always been downright disrespectful of any sort of authority that is from first grade through grad school my teachers had to impress me and deserve my respect otherwise...
(And, yeah, then my Libra stellium kicks in and I feel bad about harassing the underpaid educators.)

-Freedom, freedom, freedom. Intellectual freedom is of the utmost importance to me. My worst nightmare is being surrounded by bigots.

-Guess it's the mix of Scorpio and Aquarius, but I often bring up the subjects people are not always very comfortable with and want to discuss and help them overcome their prejudices.

    -Freelance.

-I think I'm far less secretive than an average Scorpio and that's not good. 

Loads more, but this is what first came to mind...

      hey i'm also scorpio sun
i think the aquarius rising makes me a lighter, less intense scorpio.
so at first glance, i am very aquarian like
i'm told i'm care-free, funny, gross, particular, open-minded, complicated, and that i think differently. i know the different part, i never felt i belonged, never lasted in any group. all my relationships are one on one based.

I think the Aquarius Rising gives my personality a much needed sense of lightness, humor, and diplomacy. With Capricorn Sun and Venus with Virgo moon, things could definitely get a bit too rigid and grounded. It definitely lends it's own particular flavor to my Mars in Scorpio. Without it I could definitely get way too intense and serious. I like to think of it as the little friend who pulls the stick out of my @&&.

haven't been here for awhile, so i'm chiming in a little late, but whatever. yet another scorpio sun here.

t said,"..never lasted in any group. all my relationships are one on one based."

very true... extreme individualism. i seem to lack that group concsiousness aspect that comes naturally to most people. i connect with whoever i connect with in any group, but never feel completely connected to an entire group. i'm usually involved in alot of different groups, kind of bouncing around between them, and people are amazed that i seem to know everyone... kind of a social butterfly, hopping from group to group without ever getting sucked in. and that need for freedom (i hate schedules) tends to keep each group (or individual) guessing as to when i'm gonna show up again.

also seems to make me come off as sort of aloof or absent-minded. like my thoughts are kind of scattered.

and of course there's the "disrespect" for authority. i always expect to be treated as an equal. i don't care where you think stand in the social structure... that structure doesn't exist with me.

that, and a lot of "a-ha moments", spontaneous flashes of (self-proclaimed) genius.

Ya know, I never even really noticed it, but it's true. I've never been consumed by any particular group and I've never been in a rush to befriend all members of a group just because I happened to like one member.

Besides the one-on-one thing, anyone ever notice that your friends have absolutely nothing in common with one another?

Most people would try to pull the whole mismatched assortment of friends and acquaintances into their own hodge-podge group, but that would make me absolutely miserable. I think maybe Aquarians and Aquarius Risings are more into "networks", not cliques.

Seems like we have a pattern emerging here—not belonging to specific groups. Never felt comfortable in the well organized, hierarchical groups—I'm not good at following rules & was never too fond of any sort of hierarchy. So many restrictions—and that doesn't work for me.

My friendships seem to be also one on one affairs, but I do seem to manage to bring all these different people together. It sure makes for an eclectic bunch, but probably due to shared core values and goofiness they find a common language.

I love being a hostess—wherever I set up my (usually temporary) home--& just love seeing my friends interact—those whose paths probably wouldn't cross otherwise. They’re all cool people in their own right and all of them bring something unique to the table. I don't try to make a new funny miss-match group, as I usually reserve a right to move on, but it`s fun to see them all somehow get along.

I find it funny though, that even though I see myself as a very social, extroverted, tolerant, supportive gal, often even my closest friends find me kind of aloof and unavailable. As much as I don't like being told what to do, I also don't like telling other people what they should or shouldn't do. I give them space for themselves and space to feel comfortable with whoever they are and grow and explore and move on if they want—some kind of intellectual haven—but I guess it's often perceived as a sort of a cerebral & somewhat distant approach. Oh, well, what’s a girl to do…my excuse: it’s the Aquarius in me, I suppose. ;-)

i love being a host, too. i always thought that had more to do with the libra stellium. but i can see how the aquarian likes seeing all these people from different groups broken out of their mold. throwing parties is kinda like pulling people out of their usual groups and forcing them into the aquarian world.

hey hey...wow nice mixtures fellow Aquarius Risers....

Well I am a Leo Sun and Moon with this Aquarius rising and honestly it just makes me so damn confused all the time!

I do suffer from pretentiousness and selfishness......but at the end of the day I always am looking out for everyone else...typical humanitarian...but like I said i am can extremely self-centered...I always need lots and lots of freedom...but its conflicted with my need for constant attention and adoration...and at the same time I want nothing to do with anyone and I am such a loner at times!!!
