hi. aquarius rising, cancer sun, virgo moon here...
just curious about you all-- i've read that ppl with aquarius rising often grow up feeling different, a bit eccentric. this definitely resonates w/ me on many levels (my biracial background being a factor among other things) this feeling of being different, however, has definitely led/ allowed me to think about things "outside of the box" and i think more broadly.
and so am curious if this resonates with any of your experiences...

I defiantly feel different than most humans I interact with and always did growing up. When I was a child I enjoyed hanging out with adults much more than playing with other children, nowadays I often prefer kids to adults....... I have always wondered if it was my temperament or the way my folks raised me.
Nonviolence, equality and respect were very important aspects of my childhood conditioning and these values made it difficult to relate to many of my peers growing up. I never felt at home around other people until I was in my late teens and started traveling....... -

I have a Scorpio sun, Aries moon, Aquarius rising. Aquarius is the least emotionally intense part of my chart (mostly water and fire).
It's kind of an odd front to present to the world with so much intensity underneath. -

I have a lot of other Scorpio too (besides sun)--Scorpio mars, mercury, uranus, MC, north node. Strange combination--that intense, emotional Scorpio and detached Aquarius, don't you think? My Aquarius rising also squares my Scorpio stuff.

anyway, even with my scorpio inner heart, i have always been a tad eccentric -- more playfully eccentric, less pretentious (at least most of the time) -- not quite like the aquarius sun's i've met. but anyway i have felt misunderstood -- too random for people to follow sometimes -- and i've jumped out of cars to stop burglaries in progress. i've always believed my knee jerk altruism could be attributed to the aquarius in me.
also attracting those with the invisible flashing "help me" signs on their foreheads.
thankfully that cap moon keeps me at least somewhat on the ground. -

Mon, April 3, 2006 - 3:14 AMI have always been different, I suppose; probably exacerbated by the fact that I'm a Gemini sun sign as well as having an Aquarian ascendant...
I was very bookish as a kid (I still am); but simultaneously hyperactive and distractive to my classmates. I got the grades although spent most of my school life chatting and being diverted by the 'alternative' crowd- I definately shatter a lot of social precepts regarding personality 'types'!!!
I tend to dress very differently from mainstream society, choosing bright colors and changing my hair, social scene and appearance regularly (I can play 'normal' too)
I am studying to become a professional architect (hopefully to create environmentally sound buildings), but party hard have a variety of what could be interpreted as 'Aquarian' interests such as crystals, astrology, gaia, shamanism, theoretical physics etc which I need in order to keep me from going insane (I really need a LOT of variety and 'thought food'!!!)
Sometimes, I am gifted with a crystal clear, rapier sharp mind and can work out anything in an instant, although for the mainstay, I tend to be very ditzy, impulsive, easily distracted and absent minded- always thinking about something other than what I'm actually doing (Hence I learned to multitask effectively)... -

i think differently is wut i've been told and also be attracted to things b4 it's the new trend.

i am just learning how important my aries mars & saturn are
and that my pisces in 1rst house makes me a strange fish
and the fact that all my aquarius - rising mercury venus (well rising of course) is 12th house but are damn near in my first house, and all my mars is 2nd house but also damn near my first house - ie, i never stood a chance, was always going to be outspoken and not in the crowd.
but i find it kind of funny
cause aquarius rising should make a lot of us pretty intensely vocal yet this tribe is a little dead...
maybe too many leaders makes for no leaders?
maybe that's a good thread.
too bad its 3am, i might have started it...

Mon, July 17, 2006 - 9:05 PMMost definitely. I am virgo sun, virgo moon, aquarius rising. So imagine all of the fun conflicts I have with myself every day!
I have always been convinced that I was not human while simultaneously somehow playing the social game better than most people I knew (financially, in school, etc). And all the while being a total neurotic mess (hello, virgo!).
But as of the past year I have slowly but surely been integrating the disparate parts of myself that works. From an internal point of view, I'm sure it looks sort of odd and misshapen but somehow functional....
